Vijay Mallya’s mansion: Businessman Vijay Mallya, who took thousands of crores from banks in India and absconded without paying, recently revealed in a podcast about his life that he said is now going viral not only across the country but also online. He said that he is not a thief and that he has recovered two and a half times more than the loans he took from his assets.
He revealed that the things said by the Union Minister and the Prime Minister are proof of this. Vijay Mallya made sensational comments in a recent podcast with entrepreneur Raj Shamani. On this occasion, he shared some interesting facts about the Kingfisher Towers in the capital of Karnataka, Bangalore, and its construction.
Vijay Mallya revealed about his iconic penthouse on the Kingfisher Tower, located in the heart of the central business district of Bangalore, next to Cubbon Park in Bengaluru. He said that his father lived in that house and that it was the bungalow where he grew up. However, Mallya recalled that it was in the same place where Kingfisher Towers is now. He said that he generally wanted to convert the bungalow into huge towers.
Vijay Mallya revealed that Prestige Group Chairman Irfan Razak approached him and brought a proposal to develop that valuable land into a luxury residential project. However, Mallya recalled that he had jokingly told Irfan Razak that he would agree to the project only if his family’s bungalow could be placed on top of those towers.
However, Vijay Mallya revealed that he was completely surprised when he agreed to do so. He recalled that Irfan Razak did exactly what he had thought. He explained that the company’s opportunities would increase significantly by developing a property in a prominent location in the heart of the city. Therefore, the decision to go ahead with the Kingfisher Towers project began with business interests.
However, when asked about the current status of the penthouse, Vijay Mallya admitted that it is still incomplete. He said that it is stuck in the UBHL liquidation process and that the property can be revived once it is resolved. He revealed that he is working hard to resolve these UBHL legal hurdles.
Apart from being located next to Cubbon Park and Chinnaswamy Stadium, the penthouse remains an architectural and real estate marvel in Bengaluru because of the people associated with the building. Apart from Mallya’s sky bungalow, other celebrities like Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy and Nikhil Kamath of Zerodha are said to be residing in Kingfisher Towers, according to reports.
