Top Medical Tests Women Should Not Miss After 30

Medical Tests Women: Women experience many changes in their health as they age.The body becomes more sensitive. Some diseases start without showing symptoms. These health changes affect both men and women. But some health risks are higher in women. Biological differences increase the chances of infections and diseases.


According to the World Health Organization, young women have twice the risk of HIV infection compared to men of the same age. Reports show that one in ten women may develop thyroid issues before turning 60. Also, 20-40% of annual deaths occur due to anemia. Doctors suggest that women between 30 and 40 should undergo specific health tests to detect early risks.

Medical Tests Women:

Pap Smear and HPV Test: Cervical cancer risk increases when abnormal cells grow in the cervix. Sexually active women should take this test every three to five years. It helps in the early detection of cervical cancer. Experts recommend women aged 21-65 take this test every three years.


Thyroid Function Test and CBC : Thyroid disorders can cause hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism. Many women also suffer from anemia. The TFT test checks thyroid function. The CBC test helps detect anemia. Symptoms like fatigue, weight changes or hair fall may indicate thyroid or blood issues. Even without symptoms, testing every five years is beneficial.

Mammogram and Breast Examination: Breast cancer screening is essential for women. Early detection can help identify tumors or abnormalities. The American Cancer Society advises yearly mammograms and MRI scans after 30. Women should also examine their breasts regularly to detect any unusual changes.

Cholesterol and Blood Pressure Test: Age directly affects heart health. Poor lifestyle, diet and stress increase heart disease risks. Cholesterol and blood pressure tests help to detect strokes, kidney diseases and heart issues. Regular blood pressure checks are advisable even without symptoms.

Blood Glucose Test: Checking blood sugar levels helps in detecting diabetes early. Overweight women or those with a family history of diabetes must take this test. After 35, women should check their sugar levels every three years.

Lipid Profile Test: The American Heart Association recommends a lipid profile test every 4-6 years after 20. This test helps to assess cholesterol levels and heart disease risks.

Fertility Test: Women planning for pregnancy after 30 should consult a gynecologist for fertility tests. Egg count reduces after the late 20s. By the late 30s, fertility will decline further.It makes conception difficult.

 

Bone Density Test: Bones lose calcium and density with age. With hormonal changes the osteoporosis risk increases in women. A DEXA scan measures bone strength and detects osteoporosis early. Women over 40 should take this test every

one or two years.
