Why Do AC Compressors Explode in Summer? Must-Know Safety Tips

AC Compressor Blast Prevention:

Air conditioners are now used in almost every home due to rising temperatures. But using an AC without proper care can lead to serious problems. In some cases, there is a risk of the AC compressor blasting. This can cause fire accidents and even loss of life. Experts say careful use and regular maintenance can prevent such dangers.

AC Compressor Blast Prevention:

An AC is an electronic appliance. If not maintained correctly, it may not work properly. Over time, dirt, dust, and wear can affect performance. Some major reasons for compressor blasts include overheating, gas leakage, and voltage problems.

Why does an AC compressor blast?

Overheating is a major reason. When a compressor runs at high temperatures continuously, it can lead to failure or fire. Poor maintenance also increases the risk. If not cleaned or serviced regularly, dust builds up and puts pressure on the compressor.

Gas leakage is another cause. If refrigerant gas leaks, the pressure inside the unit changes suddenly. This can damage the compressor.

Voltage fluctuations also cause issues. If the power supply is unstable, it affects the unit’s operation. This may lead to a blast.

Cooling fan failure is dangerous, too. If the fan stops working, the compressor overheats. It may result in a fire or an explosion.

How to prevent compressor blast:

1. Regular Service: Get your AC checked every six months or at least once a year by a trained technician.

2. Use a Voltage Stabilizer: It protects the AC from sudden voltage changes.

3. Check for Gas Leaks: If you notice a gas smell or drop in cooling, call a certified technician. Only trained professionals should refill gas.

4. Clean Filters and Coils: Dirty filters increase the load on the compressor. Keep them clean for better performance.

5. Proper Ventilation: Make sure the outdoor unit is in a shaded and airy space. Never place it in direct sunlight.

6. Monitor Cooling Fan: Ensure the cooling fan works well. If damaged, get it repaired immediately.

Using an air conditioner with care not only extends its life but also protects your home and family from possible dangers.
