Wonderla Chennai is set to redefine thrill with the introduction of India’s largest roller coaster, marking a significant milestone in the country’s amusement park landscape.
The upcoming roller coaster at Wonderla Chennai is poised to be the crown jewel of the park, boasting a construction cost of approximately ₹70–80 crore. This investment underscores Wonderla’s commitment to delivering world-class attractions, comparable to those found in premier international theme parks like Disney and Universal Studios. The coaster is expected to feature towering heights, rapid speeds, and multiple inversions, offering an unparalleled adrenaline rush for thrill-seekers.
Wonderla Chennai represents the company’s most ambitious project to date, with an overall investment of ₹515 crore. Spanning 62 acres in Thiruporur taluk of Chengalpet district, approximately 45 kilometers from Chennai, the park is designed to be a comprehensive entertainment destination. Upon completion, it will feature a total of 42 rides, including 16 water-based attractions, catering to a diverse audience ranging from families to adventure enthusiasts.
Construction of Wonderla Chennai commenced following the receipt of all necessary approvals from the Tamil Nadu government. The park is on track for a grand opening in December 2025, aligning with the festive Christmas season. This launch will mark Wonderla’s fifth amusement park in India, following successful establishments in Kochi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Bhubaneswar.
