Squid Game season 2 is set three years after Seong Gi-hun won Squid Game, giving up on going to the United States and returning with a new resolution in mind. He once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of ₩45.6 billion.

Squid Game series is a South Korean dystopian survival thriller horror television series created, written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk for Netflix. The series revolves around a secret contest where 456 players, all of whom are in deep financial hardship, risk their lives to play a series of deadly children’s games for the chance to win a ₩45.6 billion prize. The series’ title draws from squid, a Korean children’s game.
Netflix took the world by storm with Squid Game back in 2021, the South Korean survival drama was released on September 17, 2021 without expectation and soon became a global sensation and the most-watched Netflix series ever. After three years of it’s debut the series is back with another stellar new season , which is set to debut on gaint ott platform Netflix today, 26th December, 2024.

Squid Game cult fans have been eagerly waiting to see how the creators have reimagined the intense life-and-death game. Expectations are throuhg the roof, and many stayed up late, refreshing their screens, hoping to catch the premiere at midnight. But to their surprise, the show didn’t drop then. Instead, Squid Game 2 will be available to stream all episodes on Netflix today, 26th December worldwide at 1:31 PM IST in multiple languages, including Telugu.
The new season stars Lee Jung-jae, Wi Ha-joon, Lee Byung-hun, Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Lee Jin-wook, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Jo Yu-ri, Kang Ae-shim and Lee Seo-hwan. Season 2 follows Gi-hun, who had vowed revenge one year later after winning the Squid Game, returns and joins the game again to take revenge. Netflix also announced season 3 and 4, which are expected to release in 2026 and 2027.
