Crime Thrillers: JioHotstar debuted the detective crime series Mistry on June 27, starring Ram Kapoor and Mona Singh. Director Rishab Seth created Mistry as an adaptation of the popular American show Monk. Ram Kapoor plays Detective Armaan Mistry, who lives with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and uses his unique methods to solve complex murder cases. Mona Singh takes on the role of ACP Sehmat Siddiqui, his sharp and supportive partner. Blending mystery, humor, and emotional depth, the series explores how Armaan navigates his condition while unraveling gripping criminal investigations.

1. Duranga
A Hindi version of the well-known K-drama Flower of Evil is called Duranga. The show, which stars Gulshan Devaiah and Drashti Dhami, tells the tale of a guy who keeps his troubled background from his police officer wife. As the wife looks into a string of killings that lead her to her husband, it examines themes of love, treachery, and the complexity of identity. Aijaz Khan and the late Pradeep Sarkar are the directors of Duranga.

2. Murshid
Shravan Tiwari is the director of the well-known crime drama web series Murshid. The main character of the story is Murshid Pathan (Kay Kay Menon), a former Mumbai underworld don who must return to the world of crime to protect his family. Power, freedom, and Murshid’s complicated connection with his adopted son, Kumar Pratap Rana, who is currently a police officer, are among the story’s major themes. 3. Rangbaaz: Darr Ki Rajneeti
The life of gangster-turned-politician Muhammad Shahabuddin serves as the basis for the television show. It centers on the life of Vineet Kumar Singh’s character, Haroon Shah Ali Baig, a Bihar gangster who amasses wealth and influence by his schemes. Nonetheless, he lends his fortune to the poor, earning him a reputation akin to Robin Hood. Aakanksha Singh, Vijay Maurya, Rajesh Tailang, Prashant Narayanan, and Geetanjali Kulkarni are also in the Sachin Pathak-directed series.

4. Naxalbari
Rajeev Khandelwal plays Raghav, an STF agent assigned to quell a burgeoning Naxal threat in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, in Partho Mitra’s Naxalbari. The series explores the protagonist’s relationship to the area and the terrible events that shaped him, as well as the intricacies of the Naxalite movement and his fight against it. Among the cast members are Tina Dutta, Satyadeep Misra, Sreejita De, and numerous others.

5. Expiry Date
A couple stuck in a complicated web of love, treachery, and murder is the focus of another crime series. Expiry Date, which stars Tony Luke, Sneha Ullal, Madhu Shalini, and Ali Reza. When Vishwa (Tony) learns of his wife Disha’s (Sneha) affair with Sunny (Ali), the plot takes a dark turn, as a sequence of events culminates in Disha’s unintentional death. Themes of treachery, retaliation, and the negative aspects of relationships are all explored in this series.
