Stranger Things Season 5: A completely fresh new fan theory surrounds Stranger Things Season 5, which has taken the internet by storm, claiming that Will Byers may basically be a “flipper”- the term used for a person who can exist in and move freely between two worlds. The theory draws on the book by Stephen King and Peter Straub, The Talisman, which has long been rumoured to be influencing the yet-to-seen season. It is stipulated that those who die in one world, but survive in another, then become one-natured and have the ability to switch back and forth.
The theory that originated in the viral stream claims that Will died in the “Right-Side Up” world back in Season 1, while his analog in the Upside Down survived. That explains how Will is psychically connected to the dark dimension even years later. Fans speculate that he has been changed because of surviving in the Upside Down and has therefore learned to access both realms. Some believe this to be the reason for sensing Vecna’s presence and feeling the emotional weight of the other world more than others.
One of the theory components includes Will’s experience being in relation to Eleven. If Eva’s memories of the Rainbow Room were buried because of trauma, then maybe memories of his death-transformations may have also been buried at some time in the future. Perhaps the new doctor teased in the upcoming season would remedy matters with Will in recovering those memories put back into place, unlocking latent powers in the process.
This theory, if true, makes Will the strongest weapon against Vecna. In fans’ dreams, it makes him part Mind Flayer and therefore, the only human strong enough to end the Upside Down once and for all. True or just fantasizing from the public’s side, Stranger Things 5 has regenerated excitement and speculation in the fandom.
