Indian Students Evacuated: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Tuesday that 110 Indian students have been evacuated from Tehran and are traveling across the border into Armenia as tensions between Israel and Iran continue to rise.
The ministry stated in a statement that the Indian Embassy strives to provide all possible support and is in constant communication with the community. According to the MEA, “Indian students in Tehran have been relocated out of the city for safety reasons, through arrangements made by the Embassy.”
110 Indian Students Evacuated:
The external affairs ministry has issued a warning to those Indians who are self-sufficient in terms of transportation to leave Tehran city due to the unstable situation in Iran. The MEA stated that it might continue to warn Indians living in Iran. The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association reports that 110 Indian students from Urmia Medical University have entered Armenia without incident, 90 of whom are from the Kashmir Valley.
“All Indian Nationals and PIOs who can move out of Tehran using their resources are advised to move to a safe location outside the city,” the Indian Embassy in Iran wrote in a post on the social media site X. A 24/7 control center has been set up in the ministry in light of the ongoing events in Israel and Iran, the MEA added in a separate statement.
