476 People from Andhra, Telangana Evacuated from Borders

476 People: Jammu & Kashmir and other Pakistani border states have safely evacuated 476 people and students from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. A statement claims that 350 students from Andhra Pradesh, including 100 who traveled from Jammu and Kashmir and neighboring states on Sunday, have arrived in the nation’s capital.

“To help people from the State who are in border areas, the Andhra Pradesh Bhavan has established a 24×7 Control Room in Delhi,” the source continued. Separately, the Telangana government reported that 91 people had arrived since midnight yesterday, bringing the total number of people who have reached Telangana Bhavan to 126.

According to a statement released by Andhra Pradesh Bhavan on Sunday, “260 students are still in our care, while 90 students have already left for their respective hometowns across Andhra Pradesh.” As per the statement, the evacuees include 50 students from NIT Srinagar, staff members from J&K, students and instructors from the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences, and students from Lovely Professional University in Punjab.

“After receiving aid, fifty-seven individuals have already departed for their hometowns, and the remaining individuals are being housed at the Telangana Bhawan,” the official said. The evacuees are receiving free food, housing, medical care, and transportation from both State Bhavans.

Following the most intense conflict between the two nations in decades, India and Pakistan came to an agreement on May 10 to cease all military operations. A terror attack on tourists on April 22 that claimed 26 civilian lives set off the escalation.
