Former CM Vijay Rupani: Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani died in Thursday’s Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed his condolences and described Rupani as a humble leader dedicated to public service.
The crash, which claimed 241 lives on board the London-bound private carrier, left Naidu deeply distressed. “We are all deeply saddened by the terrible deaths in the Ahmedabad jet disaster. My thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost a loved one,” Naidu wrote late Thursday on X. “I offer them my condolences and pray they find the strength to endure this immense grief.”
Naidu also paid tribute to Rupani, remembering him as a soft-spoken and modest leader who served the people with unwavering dedication. “I extend my heartfelt sympathies to his family, friends, and all who admired him. I pray for the souls of the departed and wish a speedy recovery for the injured,” he added.

Pawan Kalyan tribute to Former CM Vijay Rupani:
Along with others, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also conveyed his profound sadness over Rupani’s death in the plane disaster. “It is terrible that Rupani, the former chief minister of Gujarat, and other passengers perished in the Ahmedabad Air India flight accident.
In a ‘X’ post, Kalyan stated, “His journey was more than political – it was a true commitment towards public service.”Rupani, who perished in the aircraft accident, was renowned for his calm manner and strict management style. The 68-year-old senior BJP politician led Gujarat through a crucial post-COVID recovery period while serving as chief minister from August 2016 to September 2021.
