AP Govt: The Andhra Pradesh government will relaunch the NTR Baby Kit scheme for women giving birth in government hospitals. Officials have recently revealed that this scheme will start from next month. Thousands of deliveries take place every year in PHCs, UPHCs, CHCs and district hospitals across the state. The TDP government started this scheme in July 2016 under the name of NTR baby kits. In 2019, the YSRCP government changed the name of this scheme to Dr. YSR baby kits. It was provided for a year and then stopped. As this scheme was stopped for almost four years, lakhs of women could not get the benefit. This scheme is being restarted with the aim of increasing deliveries in government hospitals. This will reduce the neonatal mortality rate and also provide financial support to mothers and their families.
Officials said that the NTR baby kit worth Rs. 1410 will contain 11 types of items.
