Britain: A recent British report has stated that Russia is the immediate threat to the world. It believes that a long-term, technological challenge with China is inevitable. To this end, the British government has recently released a defense and security analysis report. This report reflects the United Kingdom’s geopolitical perspective. It said that Russia is currently acting as the main threat to European stability. The report made it clear that Russia’s war in Ukraine is still ongoing and its reluctance to cease fire is causing rising tensions in Europe. It warned that there is a possibility of a direct military or cyber threat to Britain and NATO member countries.
The report expressed the view that China is rewriting the international system by strategically using its economic, military and technological capabilities. China is a country that is constantly engaging in surveillance, espionage and internal infiltration. This is clearly a threat to peace,’ the report commented.
It said that China is trying to achieve dominance with research in the fields of 5G, AI and data protection.
The UK has focused on increasing its defense spending, strengthening its cybersecurity architecture, and further strengthening its North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) partnerships. “We will firmly assert our security interests from Northeastern Europe to the Pacific. We will not back down,” it stressed. It is noteworthy that the British report expressed this opinion in the context of Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine and China’s aggression over Taiwan.

Meanwhile, the US report also warned in its annual threat assessment report that China is moving strategically to reshape the global political and economic order after 50 years. Report was submitted to the US Parliament by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI). The report clarified that China is the most long-term and technological challenge to US national security. The report mentioned increasing influence around the world, expanding military power, economic dominance, and the intention to control major institutions.
