On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Rohini Eknathrao Khadse, the president of the women’s wing of the Nationalist Congress Party-Sharad Pawar faction, wrote a letter to President Droupadi Murmu. In her letter, Rohini Khadse asked the President to exempt women from punishment if they commit a murder so, n the context of increasing sexual harassment and atrocities against women in the country day by day, she wrote this sensational letter on the occasion of Women’s Day.
Rohini Khadse revealed that women want to kill the oppressive mentality, the rapist mentality, and the passive law and order trend. She also mentioned the recent gang rape of a 12-year-old girl in Mumbai, Maharashtra in her letter therefore, Rohini Khadse stated that if women commit a murder in such unavoidable circumstances, they should be given relief without being punished. On this occasion, she appealed to give immunity from punishment to women for murder.
Rohini Khadse wrote this letter to Droupadi Murmu, targeting the current peace and security situation in Maharashtra. She also reminded of a survey report that said that India is the most unsafe country for women, with crimes like kidnapping and domestic violence. After serious consideration, we hope that they will accept our request and grant permission to acquit women in a murder case, Rohini Khadse said in her letter.
Rohini Khadse first said that she wished President Droupadi Murmu a happy International Women’s Day and revealed that ours is a country where great people like Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi walked. It is like a home for peace and non-violence. She said that in such a country, women are now not protected.
Incidents of violence against women are increasing day by day and said that 2 days ago, a 12-year-old girl was gang-raped in the country’s financial capital Mumbai. She said that she should think about her condition and that is why she requested in the letter that she be allowed to end such a vicious way of thinking among human beings.
A recently released survey has said that women in our country are not protected. She said that India is the most unsafe country in Asia. Women are being kidnapped, disappeared, and domestic violence are happening, therefore, Rohini Khadse said that she is asking for forgiveness on behalf of women for their one mistake. She said that people like Maharani Tara Rani and Punya Shloka Ahalya Devi Holkar took out the sword to protect the country. She asked them to consider their appeal for a better society.
