In an interview with CBS News, Musk took a clear stance against the spending package, referred to as the “One Big Beautiful Bill”, which Trump christened himself. Musk responded directly to “One Big Beautiful Bill”, stating: “I was disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly, which increases, not decreases, the U.S. budget deficit, and undermines the work that the DOGE team is doing.”
This spending bill expands Trump’s 2017 tax cuts, increases border security spend, reduces clean energy incentives and requires Medicaid recipients to work to access assistance. There are obvious reasons to provide the necessary leadership in advocating against proposals such as this, not limited to pure dollar cost but also their possible implications on financial health and environmental issues.
