Gulf Skies Reopen as Trump Declares Israel‑Iran Ceasefire

Airspace Reopened

Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait have reopened airspace. Iran’s strike on a US base prompted a brief closure. Flights resumed after authorities cleared skies under safety reviews and Trump Ceasefire announcement.

Trump Declares Ceasefire

On June 23, former US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. He shared the news on Truth Social, stating that both countries agreed to stop hostilities. Trump claimed Iran initiated the truce, and Israel responded with a mutual pause in strikes.

His announcement followed days of rising tension, including missile exchanges and attacks on military bases. Trump credited his personal diplomacy for the breakthrough.

Iran Rejects Ceasefire Claims

However, Iran’s foreign ministry strongly denied any formal agreement. Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said there was no official ceasefire. He clarified that Iran had only paused further military action conditionally.

Iran warned that any new Israeli attack would lead to immediate retaliation. Tehran insisted the situation remains unresolved and any claims of a deal are premature.
