During the discussion on demands, KTR accused the ruling party, the Congress government, of corruption. He claimed that the contractors were forced to pay commissions for sanctioning of funds. He referred to the issue as “30% commission government. This drew a sharp edge from the treasury benches.

Reactions from the Treasury Benches

Following that, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka demanded that KTR either prove his allegations with solid evidence or issue an unconditional apology regarding the baseless accusations he made. He also took a stand for himself and his party; he further clarified that the statements made by KTR are baseless.

BRS members reaction:

This response left the BRS members walking out as they could not provide solid evidence to explain their allegations. The BRS members also staged a protest outside the Assembly, owning their allegations on the ruling party, the Congress Government.

Final Decision:

Panel Speaker Revuri Prakash Reddy concluded that the remarks and allegations were to be removed from the Assembly records. He also deemed his accusations as ‘unparliamentary.’ BRS’s decision to walk out right after the deputy CM asked to prove the allegations sparked tension towards KTR.
