Operation Sindoor: The central government recently said that the Indian Air Force jammed Chinese air defense systems on the Pakistani border during Operation Sindoor, which was carried out in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack. The operation was completed in 23 minutes in retaliation for the Pahalgam attack. The government said that this success was possible with the help of indigenously developed weapons and ISRO. It clarified that this is a proof of India’s technological superiority.
The central government made a key announcement on Operation Sindoor on Wednesday. It was revealed that the Indian Air Force successfully jammed the Chinese-made air defense systems installed by Pakistan along its border and the Line of Control (LoC) during Operation Sindoor . The Indian forces said that this operation, which was carried out in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack, was completed in just 23 minutes. The center clarified that this is a proof of India’s technological superiority. The counter action operation by the Indian forces was carried out in response to the attack by Pakistani terrorists in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Indian government has denied Pakistan’s false propaganda. It has clarified that the strikes were carried out without any loss to the IAF: “The Indian Air Force suffered no loss in these strikes. This is a testament to the efficiency of our monitoring, planning and execution systems… The strikes were remarkably successful due to indigenously developed technology such as long-range drones and guided munitions,” it said.
The Indian Air Force carried out precision strikes on key airbases like Noor Khan and Rahim Yar Khan . Loitering munitions (suicide drones / kamikaze drones) were used in these strikes. These drones circle the target area, find specific targets and destroy them.
The Chinese-made air defense systems used by Pakistan completely failed to detect the Indian attacks. The Indian Air Force managed to jam these systems and complete the mission in 23 minutes.
The Centre said in its statement that air defence systems like S-400, which are 100% indigenously developed, have performed exceptionally well. The Chinese-made PL-15 missiles used by Pakistan, Turkish UAVs (Yiha/ Yeehaw), long-range rockets, quadcopters, and commercial drones were all effectively intercepted and destroyed by Indian air defence systems. The debris collected at the borders was identified as Turkish and Chinese through forensic tests. It said, “Despite Pakistan using modern weapons from countries like China and Turkey, India’s indigenous electronic warfare systems have gained the upper hand.”
The Centre said that ISRO played a key role in this operation. According to details revealed by ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan on May 11, 10 satellites worked 24 hours a day for the security of the country. The Centre clarified that the retaliatory strikes carried out by India did not take place across the international border or LOC, and were carried out in accordance with the war strategy, precisely and carefully.
It said that the Indian-made weapon systems used in Operation Sindoor, including Pechora, OSA-AK, LLAD guns (Low-Level Air Defence), and Akash missile system, all performed brilliantly. Operation Sindoor was not just a military victory. It was a clear validation of India’s self-reliant defense policies. The Center proudly announced that India has emerged as a high-tech military power in the 21st century in air defense systems, drone warfare, counter-UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) capabilities, and net-centric warfare systems.
