India has rejected US President Trump’s offer to mediate on the Jammu and Kashmir issue. It has made it clear that the solution to the problems is possible only bilaterally. Rejecting Trump’s comments that he convinced the ceasefire with trade threats, India has advised other countries not to believe Pakistan’s nuclear threats. Randhir Jaiswal said that Pakistan was ready to accept the ceasefire because of the Indian air strikes on Pakistani air bases on May 10.
India has rejected US President Donald Trump’s offer to mediate on the Jammu and Kashmir issue once again. The Centre has made it clear that any issues related to Kashmir will be resolved only through bilateral talks between India and Pakistan. It is known that Trump announced that he had mediated the ceasefire agreement . ‘This is a consistent national policy that the Indian government has always taken. It has not changed. The pending issue is that Pakistan should leave the Indian territory illegally occupied,’ the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.
The Indian government also rejected Trump’s claims that he had persuaded India and Pakistan to cease fire by threatening to stop trade. ” From the start of Operation Sindoor on May 7 to the ceasefire agreement on May 10, there were several discussions between Indian and US leaders on the military situation. Nowhere in them did the issue of ‘trade’ come up,” it said.
Moreover, the Indian government also reacted strongly to Trump’s statement that he himself had prevented a nuclear war. It clarified that “Indian military action continued entirely in the conventional domain.” It warned other countries not to believe the nuclear bluff coming from Pakistan.
There were reports that Pakistan’s nuclear watchdog, the National Command Authority (NCA), would meet on May 10, but the Pakistani government later denied them. The Indian government said that Pakistan had requested talks at the DGMO level after the Indian Air Force carried out heavy air strikes on 8-10 air bases in Pakistan on May 10. The Indian army has completely denied the rumours that it had attacked a nuclear site called Kirana Hills.
“India will not tolerate nuclear threats from Pakistan. If it uses such nuclear blackmail as a cover to promote terrorism, it will be a threat to itself,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made clear on May 12.
“We have given the same message in our conversations with all countries.. India’s attacks on terror camps are continuing in response to the attack on April 22. But, if Pakistan fires, India will also fire. If they stop, we will also stop,” said External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal.
Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced that the phone call between the DGMOs took place at 3.35 pm on May 10. The Pakistan High Commission sent a request for this phone call at 12.37 pm on May 10. Due to some technical reasons, the hotline was initially not connected. Therefore, the call was made at 3.35 pm, when the Indian DGMO was available.
“On the morning of May 10, the Indian Air Force carried out serious attacks on key Pakistani air bases. That is why they are ready to cease fire. All this is the glory of our Indian military forces,” he said.
