Israel-Iran: June 2025 – Global News Desk — As hostilities between Israel and Iran escalate under the banner of Operation Rising Lion, former U.S. President Donald Trump has made controversial remarks that are likely to further inflame the situation. Speaking to media in New Jersey, Trump questioned Israel’s ability to destroy Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility without direct U.S. military assistance.
“Israel does not have the ability to destroy the underground nuclear facility at Fordow without our help,” Trump asserted. “Even if they did attack, it would not have much of an effect—they simply don’t have that power.”
In his statement, Trump noted that Israel has gained significant military advantage in recent days, calling their attacks “excellent” and “not off target.” He also dismissed Iranian counterattacks as “weak,” emphasizing the lopsided nature of the current conflict.
Despite his support for Israel’s military efforts, Trump expressed caution over diplomatic efforts, stating:
“It’s hard to tell someone to stop when they’re winning a war. I want peace—but sometimes, you have to be tough.”
Trump was also critical of European diplomatic efforts, saying that Iran prefers to engage directly with the United States.
“Iran does not want to talk to Europe… they want to talk to us,” he said. “European mediation won’t work.”
These statements come amid intensifying speculation about U.S. involvement in the growing conflict.
According to White House sources, Trump is currently reviewing long-term strategic plans for military action against Iran. High-level meetings have been held with Joint Chiefs Chairman General Dan Kaine and CENTCOM Chief General Michael Kurilla.
“Attacks are very possible,” a source told the New York Post. “President Trump wants full preparation and strategic clarity—he does not support incremental, uncertain operations.”
Retired General Jack Kane also weighed in, warning that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is committed to a long-term war strategy.
“Iran has built a system capable of withstanding and rebuilding after attacks,” Kane explained. “Khamenei is not interested in short-term agreements. He’s thinking in decades, not months.”
As U.S. foreign policy shifts under Trump’s renewed involvement and military planning intensifies, the international community faces a pivotal moment. Trump’s remarks may increase diplomatic tensions, while also raising critical questions about America’s future role in the Middle East.
