Karimnagar Master Plan 2041: Karimnagar is set for a major transformation. The city, which has gained recognition as a tier-two IT hub and a key smart city in Telangana, will see planned development under the Satavahana Urban Development Authority (SUDA).
The SUDA has prepared the Master Plan 2041 to develop Karimnagar and its surrounding 62 villages. This plan follows the Amrut Scheme guidelines and Urban Development Plans Formulation and Implementation (UDPFI) recommendations. Public consultations have begun, allowing objections or suggestions within 90 days. SUDA Chairman Komatireddy Narender Reddy has invited feedback from residents.
New Boundaries of SUDA:
The existing Master Plan 2019 no longer meets the growing city’s needs. The updated Master Plan 2041 expands SUDA’s jurisdiction with clearly defined boundaries:
– Eastern Boundary: Extends from Taher Kondapur to Cherlabhootkur, Lingapur, Annaram and Edulagattepalli.
-Western Boundary: Starts from Gunukula Kondapur, covering Jangapalli, Madapur and Kasimpet.
-Southern Boundary: Covers Mannepalli, Renikunta and Gunukula Kondapur.
-Northern Boundary: Includes Kishtapur, Desarajpalli, Rukmapur and nearby areas.
Commercial and Industrial Zones:
Authorities designated the city’s main roads for commercial use. Authorities proposed mixed zones for areas with residential and commercial activities. They planned special industrial zones to boost economic growth. An industrial zone of 2,289 hectares will include areas like Asifnagar, Oddyarum, Nagulamaliala, Chenjarla and parts of Elgandal.
SUDA Chairman Narender Reddy stated that the new Master Plan considers future growth. The previous plan, created 30 years ago, does not meet current needs. The updated plan includes designated zones for industries, businesses and housing, ensuring systematic growth.
A 138-km Outer Ring Road has been proposed for better connectivity. This 200-feet-wide road will link Hyderabad and Warangal, passing through Gunukula Kondapur, Jangapalli and other areas. It will enhance Karimnagar’s connectivity with major highways and improve transportation.
