KCR Kaleshwaram Inquiry Ends: Justice Ghose’s Key Questions

KCR Kaleshwaram Inquiry: BRS chief and former Chief Minister KCR appeared before the Justice PC Ghosh Commission, which is investigating the construction defects of the Kaleshwaram project . The investigation lasted for about 50 minutes. During the investigation in the presence of the Commission Chairman Justice Chandra Ghosh and Secretary Muralidhar, KCR said that he had a slight cold and illness. Due to this, he requested a personal one-to-one ‘in-camera’ investigation instead of a face-to-face investigation in the open hall.


KCR Kaleshwaram Inquiry Ends

Accepting KCR’s request , Justice P Chandra Ghosh sent everyone, including former ministers, MLAs, and the media, out of the open court hall and interrogated them. The Commission cross-examined KCR, who appeared as the 115th witness. Based on the statements collected from officials, representatives of construction companies, and former ministers over the last 14 months. It seems that questions were mainly asked on the construction of the Kaleshwaram project and the decisions taken for it. It is reported that KCR briefed the commission on the drinking and irrigation water situation in Telangana as well as the availability and use of water in India.

 


Commission questions – KCR’s answers

Commission: How was the re-engineering of the three barrages done?
KCR: Re-engineering and construction of barrages were done with the approval of the Cabinet. The construction of three barrages was done based on the WAPCON reports.
Commission: How were funds raised for the construction of Kaleshwaram?
KCR: We have formed a corporation to raise funds.
Commission: Who ordered the filling of water in the barrages?
KCR: Officials took the storage decision based on technical factors.
Commission: On whose orders was the change in the locations of the barrages taken?
KCR: The locations of the barrages have been changed based on technical reports. The cabinet has approved every aspect of the Kaleshwaram project.

KCR also handed over several key documents related to the construction of Kaleshwaram and associated projects to the PC Ghosh Commission Chairman. After the hearing, KCR came out of BRK Bhavan and greeted his fans and activists and left in his car. He was accompanied by former minister Harish Rao and others.
