Ladki Bahin Yojana:
Before the 2024 Maharashtra assembly elections, the state’s Mahayuti government introduced the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana earlier in August 2024. Women between the ages of 21 and 65 are eligible for ₹1,500 in assistance each month under this program. Government workers, however, are not qualified for the program.
Following the elections, Mahayuti officials blamed the Ladki Bahin plan for the ruling alliance’s overwhelming victory in the assembly polls. However, they acknowledged that the state exchequer had been severely strained.
