JAC Meeting in Chennai: Who all attended?

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin who had raised eyebrows over devolution, has taken up the task of uniting the southern states. In this context, the first meeting of the JAC was held in Chennai today (March 22). Representatives from almost all parties, except the party that is a partner in the BJP alliance, attended this meeting. In it, CM Revanth Reddy attended from Telangana on behalf of the Congress party, KTR on behalf of BRS, while leaders like Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann also participated in this meeting.

However, this meeting became a hot topic across the country, and the comments made by the representatives of the respective parties in it have now become a topic of discussion. Not only did he bring everyone together on the delimitation issue, Stalin also showed his mark in his guest etiquette to the leaders who attended the meeting. The box contained a traditional pathamadai mat woven from grass by artisans on the banks of the Tamiraparani River, a Toda embroidered shawl handmade by the Toda tribes of the Nilgiris, a Kanchipuram silk saree, a special snack of Ooty, Varki, along with Kanyakumari cloves, famous for their aroma and taste. Kovil Patti Kadalai Mittai (peanut candy) made from peanuts, jaggery, and cardamom, Erode Manjal (yellow) with good color and medicinal properties, and Konda garlic, famous for its health benefits that grows in the Kodaikanal hills, were presented in a gift box.

However, a gift is a statue of a god or some heritage artefact. But Stalin’s fans are saying that he has once again made his mark by including items showcasing the cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu in the special gift box he gave.
