Andhra Pradesh Assembly speaker Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu took a decision for no entry for four telugu news channels from covering the budget session of the state assembly. In the statement they have stopped the four channels Sakshi, TV9, NTV, and 10TV which has the PRO-YSRCP agenda.
The party has stated that this is the first time in the history of media to deny entry to coverage legislative proceedings. This is setting a dangerous action against press freedom and democratic values.
For this action YSRCP has given statement by saying “This blatant attempt to suppress independent journalism is a direct assault on free speech and the public’s right to be informed. The coalition government, which claims to uphold democratic principles, has instead resorted to silencing critical voices and curbing transparency in governance.”
But the YSRCP has already adopted a similar attitude. Three news channels—ETV, ABN Andhra Jyothy and TV5 were banned by the government under Jagan Mohan Reddy’s leadership on the grounds that they were associated with the TDP.
Representatives of these three networks were denied entry to the assembly building in July 2019 by then-Assembly Speaker Tammineni Seetaram, who cited “violation of established norms.”

In letters to the three networks, Legislative Secretary Balakrishnama charyulu said that it was against the rules to provide live media coverage during the session.
“As directed by the Speaker, representatives of your electronic media organization will not be permitted into the legislature building,” the notice stated.
