Pakistan Breaks Truce: Following Pakistan’s violation of the ceasefire on Saturday, May 10, the Indian Army announced on the social media platform X that the Indian government has granted its Army Commanders stationed in the Pakistani border regions complete authority to take appropriate counteraction.
Any breach of the de-escalation agreement will be met with a kinetic response, according to the Indian government.

Pakistan Breaks Truce India Reaction:
According to the Indian Army’s official statement, “The #COAS has granted full authority to the Army Commanders for counteraction in the kinetic domain to any violation of the understanding reached via the DGMO talks of 10 May 2025.”

Along with his western border commanders, India’s Chief of the Army Staff has evaluated the security situation, and the Indian Army has also admitted that Pakistan has breached the ceasefire and the airspace. In its post on X, the Indian Army stated that “General Upendra Dwivedi, COAS, reviewed the security situation with the Army Commanders of the Western Borders in response to the ceasefire and airspace violations on the night of May 10-11, 2025.”
India vs Pakistan Tensions:
At 6:30 p.m. (IST) on Sunday, the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of India’s three armed forces, the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force, will give a press conference. One day after the de-escalation statement, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also presided over a high-level meeting with his senior government officials on Sunday, including Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, among many others.
India & Pakistan Ceasefire:
The Indian government declared on Saturday that both countries had reached a consensus and agreed to de-escalate the conflict by stopping all firing from air, sea, or land. However, hours later, local sources reported hearing explosions in Jammu & Kashmir, suggesting that Pakistan violated the agreement.
As the risk of an aerial strike increased on Saturday night, several states, including Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, and Gujarat. Quickly reinstated daily blackouts after briefly restoring power. The events that followed the agreement left residents in Rajasthan and Jammu & Kashmir fearing an imminent conflict between the two nations.
