Pawan Kalyan Urges Protection for Tamil Fishermen After Bay of Bengal Attack

 


Bay of Bengal Attack: Pawan Kalyan raised concern about recent violent incidents in the Bay of Bengal. Five separate sea clashes left 24 Tamil fishermen injured. All affected fishermen came from Nagapattinam district in Tamil Nadu.

Bay of Bengal Attack:

The clashes involved Tamil fishermen and unidentified groups, possibly Sri Lankan navy patrols or rival fishermen. Victims reported physical attacks and damage to boats and equipment. Some were hospitalized with serious injuries.


Pawan Kalyan addressed this issue through his official platform. He said these repeated incidents harm the fishing Pawan Kalyan emphasized that fishing is the only source of income for many coastal families. Attacks at sea affect their survival.

He asked the Ministry of External Affairs to intervene and take care that such incidents do not repeat. Deputy CM also appealed to the governments of India and Sri Lanka to work together. Pawan Kalyan asked both sides to protect fishermen operating near disputed maritime boundaries.

The Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister warned that these events might increase tensions between the two countries. He said strict measures must stop future attacks.Pawan Kalyan also highlighted the emotional distress faced by the families of injured fishermen.

Deputy CM proposed coordinated patrolling by both nations to monitor conflict zones.Pawan Kalyan said emergency helplines and distress response systems should be made available for deep-sea fishing boats. recommended training for fishermen on identifying international boundaries to avoid accidental trespassing.

Fishermen unions from Tamil Nadu demanded compensation and stricter protection. Some groups planned to protest if the government fails to act. Local officials confirmed reports of damaged boats and gear worth lakhs of rupees.

The Indian Coast Guard increased patrols after the incident. Officials also reached out to the families of the injured. Diplomatic channels have begun preliminary talks to de-escalate the issue.

Pawan Kalyan assured support to the affected families. He promised to bring the matter to the attention of central authorities. He said the safety of Indian citizens at sea must be a national priority.
