PM Modi Sends Greetings on Telangana Formation Day

Telangana Formation Day: Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished the people of Telangana a happy Formation Day on Monday, praising the state’s “innumerable contributions to national progress.” He said the NDA administration has launched several initiatives to enhance the “Ease of Living” for its citizens.


“Happy Statehood Day to the wonderful people of Telangana,” said PM Modi. “The state has played a significant role in the country’s development. Over the past ten years, the NDA Government has introduced various measures to improve living standards. I wish the people of Telangana continued success and prosperity.”

Youngest State in India:


Today is Telangana’s eleventh Foundation Day. On June 2, 2014, Telangana was formally established as the youngest state in India. Every year, residents of the state mark this milestone by planning and participating in a variety of activities that honor the hardship and sacrifices that brought about its creation. On June 2, there will be traffic restrictions in the surrounding areas from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM due to the events at Parade Ground and Gun Park in Nampally.

Pathakam Awards:

The State government has announced its yearly ‘Pathakam’ awards, honoring 461 officers for their exceptional bravery, dedication, and service in the fire and police departments. The government will award Ch. Mahesh, G. Shobhan, and A. Rakesh Kumar from the elite Greyhounds unit of the Telangana Police, Shourya Pathakamu, is one of the most prestigious honors for heroic deeds.

The government will also present the Telangana Police Mahonnatha Seva Pathakamu to B. Srinivas Rao, Polu Ravinder, S. Mahender, N.V. Kishan Rao, Boeni Kistaiah, and several other senior officials from various commissionerates and special units for their distinguished service.

The formation history of Telangana

Amid ongoing demonstrations demanding Telangana’s independence, the Congress Working Committee adopted a resolution on July 1, 2013, proposing the state’s creation. In response, the Union Government appointed a Group of Ministers to thoroughly investigate the issue.

Based on the group’s findings, the government accepted the demand for statehood. As a result, Parliament passed the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill in 2014.
