According to CM Yogi, “good deeds like fasting, self-discipline, patience, and worship during these sacred days foster values of tolerance, simplicity, and mutual brotherhood.”
The month of Ramadan, which ends with the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, is devoted to fasting from sunrise till sunset. The Shahi Imam of the Fatehpuri Mosque in Chandni Chowk, Maulana Mufti Mukarram Ahmed, and other religious leaders declared on Saturday that the holy month will begin on March 2, 2025. The Islamic calendar states that the start and finish of a month, which normally lasts 30 days, are determined by the sighting of the moon.
Muslims keep a fast from sunrise to sunset throughout the month of Ramadan. They also take part in special evening prayers known as Tarawih, where the entire Quran is recited. Until the Eid moon is sighted, which signifies the conclusion of the fasting period and the start of the festivities, these prayers continue.
