Rajnath Singh reveals how India handled Pakistan conflict

Rajnath Singh reveals: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has recently highlighted India’s wise approach in dealing with security challenges. That India was capable of retaliating more strongly but chose to exercise power with restraint. The comment came after Operation Sindoor, a counter-terror exercise against terror hideouts and aggressive camps.

India’s Tactical Strikes Against Terrorism

Singh explained that India first had aimed at terrorist camps, and after that. It bombed military camps and airbases with pinpoint strikes. It was a retaliatory attack against the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which over 100 militants of outfits like Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen were killed.

Demonstrating Strength with Restraint

While India may have intensified its retaliatory response, Singh indicated restraint was required and said. “Karne ko hum kuch aur bhi kar sakte the” (We could have done more), but we gave a good example of power coordination and restraint to the world. This strategic decision reflected seriousness on India’s part when it came to discipline, policy calibrated to circumstances, and diplomatic considerations at the global level.

Impact on India-Pakistan Relations

Following Indian military strikes, Pakistan also struck back with cross-border shelling and drone attacks. India promptly retaliated by deactivating strategic military infrastructure on 11 Pakistani airports. Both countries decided to cease hostilities, however, on May 10, 2025, evidencing that India was shifting its strategy towards diplomacy and counterterrorism.

Future Security Policies

Singh emphasized that the policy of India towards Pakistan has shifted. And further stated that there would be simply terrorism and PoK in the future engagement. Singh reiterated India’s national security priority and believed that PoK would be part of India eventually based on historical and cultural connect.

India’s strong military retaliation in Operation Sindoor was a classic example of its firm resistance to terror with diplomatic composure. Rajnath Singh’s statement reaffirms India’s commitment to security, balanced power, and measured global positioning. Operation Sindoor as a precedent stands for India’s defense in the future, putting India’s role in counterterror efforts into concrete terms.

India’s hybrid model proves that military might can be combined with restraint, being muscular while ensuring long-term geopolitical tranquility.
