Sheikh Hasina: Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has made a sensational comment, and allegations against the interim head of the Bangladesh government, Muhammad Yunus. Hasina Criticized him saying, ‘He sold the country to America.’ SHe condemned the ban on her party, the Awami league, as constitutional. an audio message to this effect was posted on the party’s official Facebook account. Sheikh Hasina resigned as Prime Minister and fled to India after the youth movement that began in Bangladesh last year against reservations turned violent. Later, Muhammad Yunus was appointed as the interim head of the government on August 7, 2024.
There are rumors that Yunus is considering resigning after the Bangladesh army demanded that general elections be held in December. In this context, Hasina has leveled accusations against Yunus.
“The internationally recognized Yunus, who was promoted by his own government, has now put the country in the hands of ‘maniacs’. My father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman rejected America’s demands for the island of Saint Martin. That is why he had to lose his life. I also did not think of selling the country with the intention of staying in power,” he said.
She recalled how the people fought a guerilla war with Sheikh Mujbur Rahman during the Bangladesh independence struggle. ‘No one should have the feeling that they would give up even an inch of their country’s territory. But unfortunately, why did this situation come to power after a person who had received such a level of love and respect?’ She questioned. Sheikh Hasina’s father Mujibur Rahman played a key role in the Bangladesh liberation war. That is why he is called the Father of the Bangladeshi Nation.
”Yunus seized power with the help of terrorists. Internationally banned terrorist organizations were his strength. My government took strict measures to protect the people of Bangladesh from them. After one terrorist attack, we arrested many people. Now all the jails are empty, everyone has been released. Now Bangladesh has gone back to the rule of terrorists,” Hasina made strong comments.
Calling Yunus a ‘militant leader’, Hasina alleged that the government led by him banned the Awami League party, which is illegal, and unconstitutional.
