Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Attends CWC Meeting in Ahmedabad
The Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy, will join the extended Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting today in Ahmedabad. The 84th Congress convention will continue for two days. After 64 years, Congress holds its convention in Gujarat. Congress returns to the state after its last meeting in Bhavnagar in 1961. Telangana CM Revanth Reddy is accompanied by Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and TPCC Chief Mahesh Kumar Goud.
The meeting is presided under the leadership of Indian National Congress President Sh. Mallikarjun Kharge, CPP Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. AICC invited more than 50 leaders from various states for this meeting.
Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi’s flight was delayed due to a bomb threat. Both arrived in Ahmedabad amid tight security. The city police announced a high alert amid the CWC meeting today and tomorrow.
Congress party want to strenghten its presence in the state through this event for the 2027 elections. The party commemorated 100 years of Mahatma Gandhi’s presidency of Congress and Sardar Patel’s 150th birth anniversary.
Speaking at the welcome note, Mallikharjun Kharge said that Gujarat has a key importance for both Congress and India. The first seed for India’s freedom struggle was laid in Gujarat.
The CWC meeting began at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Memorial. Both senior leaders and the state state representatives are likely to join. The meeting began with the theme Path of Justice: Resolution, Dedication, and Struggle. The main event on April 9 at Sabarmati Riverfront will host more than 1,700 representatives.
