Trump: The Qatari royal family is set to give US President Trump a huge gift. The Qatari ruling family will give him a plane worth hundreds of millions of dollars as a gift. It is expected to be used as an alternative to the Air Force One currently used by the US President for trips. However, Democrats are alleging that this is a bribe. The matter is causing a political uproar. What is the real motive behind this gift?
US President Donald Trump is set to visit the Middle East for the first time after taking office for the second time. He will receive an expensive gift from the Qatari royal family. It is reported that a luxurious 747-8 aircraft will be presented to Trump. It will be modified to match the Air Force One used by the US President. This aircraft will be used as a new version of ‘Air Force One’ until Trump steps down from the presidency in January 2029. After that, it will be handed over to the Presidential Library Foundation.
This gift is likely to be announced during his visit to Qatar. The value of this aircraft is about 400 million dollars (i.e. about Rs. 3400 crores in Indian currency). Meanwhile, the ruler of Qatar is one of the richest people in the world. Modi personally went and welcomed the ruler of Qatar, who recently visited India.
However, the Qatari government, in a statement released on Sunday, acknowledged that “discussions were held with the United States regarding the provision of an aircraft for the temporary use of US President Donald Trump.” However, the word “gift” was not used. Trump’s post on his own social media account Truth Social after this statement appeared to confirm that he was accepting the gift.
Earlier, ABC media, citing multiple sources, reported that the Trump administration has prepared a Boeing 747-8 aircraft worth about $400 million, which will be provided by the Qatari royal family, to be used as ‘Air Force One’. It said that Trump visited the aircraft parked at the French Beach International Airport in France in February. However, there is strong criticism of this. Is this a kind of bribe? Democrats are alleging.

This is not just a bribe.. an additional benefit.. foreign influence,’ said Democrat leader and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. ‘Our Constitution clearly states that in order to accept gifts from foreign countries, the US Congress must approve it, and even if the plane is used for four years and then sent to the presidential library, it is considered a bribe,’ tweeted another opposition member, Maryland Democrat Congressman Jamie Raski, in X.
