Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw’s Father Passes Away

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw: Daulal Vaishnaw, the father of Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, died at AIIMS Jodhpur on Tuesday, according to hospital officials. For the past few days, he had been in severe condition and was receiving hospital treatment. “We regret to notify you of the passing of the father of the Hon’ble Railway Minister, Shri Daulal Vaishnaw, who passed away today, July 8, 2025, at 11:52 AM at AIIMS Jodhpur,” the hospital said in an official statement.


Cremation Formalities:
Later in the day, his final ceremonies would take place at the Vaishnaw Samaj cremation in Kaga, Jodhpur. Family members, relatives, dignitaries, and many political and administrative figures will attend Dau Lal Vaishnaw’s final ceremonies. His younger son Anand Vaishnaw, older son Ashwini Vaishnaw, and wife Saraswati Vaishnaw survive him. In a heartwarming throwback, father and son could only have a brief encounter on October 2, 2021, when Ashwini Vaishnaw traveled to Jodhpur for the first time in his role as Railway Minister.

After their brief meeting, Dau Lal Vaishnaw wrote his son a loving letter. He wrote: “Perform your duty with such devotion that the face of every railway passenger blooms like a flower during the journey.” Vasudev Devnani, the speaker of the Rajasthan Assembly, has conveyed his profound sadness over Dau Lal Vaishnaw’s passing. Ashok Gehlot, the former chief minister, prayed for the deceased’s soul to rest in peace and for the family to have strength.

Following his Monday inauguration and laying of the foundation stones for a number of infrastructure development projects at Karpoorigram railway station in Samastipur division, Union Minister Vaishnaw arrived in Jodhpur this morning.
