The competition for Diwali releases from all industries is very tough. Naga Vamsi’s directorial Lucky Bhaskar is one of the most anticipated releases this week, with a huge fanbase for the lead actor, Dulquer Salmaan. After his previous Blockbuster, Sita Ramam, this film is expected to be another hit in Tollywood. Let’s look at this film’s review and decode its status in the Market.
Bhaskar (Dulquer Salmaan) is a common man who belongs to a Middle-Class Family. He works as an Assistant Manager in a bank called ‘Magadha’. An unexpected CBI RIde in the bank reveals the account balance of the common Assistant Manager is 100 crores. The entire story revolves around the 100 crores in his account.
How did a middle class person get 100 crores in his bank account? How did a lower Level Bank Employee become Assistant Manager in the bank? What are the consequences he had to face for having 100 crore bank balance? How did the matter end? What is the role of Bombay Stock Market in this entire story? The answers can be found in the film on big screen.
Venky Atluri’s previous film ‘Sir’ featuring Danush and Samyuktha Menon did very well in both Tamil and Telugu Markets. Well, with that confidence, This director teamed up with Dulquer Salmaan for another blockbuster.
Venky Atluri’s direction may not be the only thing to get the story going. The Scam 1992 web series also played its part in the success of this film. It is believed that Scam 1992 is why Dulquer accpeted the film. Scam 1992 is a web series that exposes some of the scams in the stock market and banking sector.
While the film is based on the frauds and void cases in the banking sector, The director wanted to show every thing in detail. Which is why the film has a little longer scenes which can make audience get bored. The first half is interesting and it gets the audience travel with the story. But as the story goes, the scenes become longer and unnecessary.
The Climax is not a routine thing, Venki made it with a few twists and thrills that attracted the audience. The second half could have been better with screenplay and speed.
Coming to the cast, Dulquer Salmaan was flawless and he gave his best. Meenakshi Chaudary did not get long screen presence. The other actors were not utilized to the fullest in the film. Cinematography was good and it matched all the other factors like Story, Music etc. Producers did their best to not compromise on the film set in 1980s. Editing would have been better in the second half.
