Bollywood and its obsession with biopics has not always worked out. But when the story is written and made properly, The film can stay in the viewer’s heart forever like Shershah, Chandu Champion, Dangal, etc. And there is a set of films that didn’t work well due to the poor performance and poor story writing.
This is a film based on India’s attack on the Sargodha airbase of Pakistan in the Indo-Pakistani air war of 1965, which marked India’s first airstrike. The story revolves around an Indian Air Force officer Om Ahuja (Akshay Kumar) and a young, enthusiastic fighter pilot T. Krishna Vijaya (debutant Veer Pahariya) who is prone to paying heed more to his heart than to the orders of his superiors. It stops short of delving deeper into the clash of personalities and two conflicting approaches to the call of duty.
The lead actors Akshay Kumar and another star kid, Veer Pahariya, brother of Janhvi Kapoor’s boyfriend shikhar Pahariya tried to give their best. But what matters in the end of the day is how good the film is. If the film isn’t good enough to attract the audience well, there is no point of creating a film.
This film allotted a whole hour to introduce the characters to the film and the situation and the back story that the film is made on. This might be a little less boring and slow compared to the other films recently.
The actual story begins in the second half. This is a turn-off to movie lovers. Viewers had to wait for an hour to get the film started on the basis of the film story. Many of the scenes and looks of the actors and fights seem to be copied from various films and inspos. The screenplay might have been better in terms of attracting viewers while watching the film.
Music has played its part well in making the scenes and fights more intense and watchable. Apart from Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan, Veer Pahariya and nimrat kaur are not holding larger market space. But the actors could have given better performances in the film.
Poor screenplay
Long scenes
