Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi’s blockbuster action starrer Amaran lands in legal trouble as a student sends legal notice to the makers demanding Rs 1.1 crore compensation for using his phone number in the film. In the statement, the student has stated that he has been receiving continuous calls since the film’s grand theatrical release, making it impossible to sleep, study, or do any other work.
According to a source, in one of the scenes from Amaran, Sai Pallavi tosses a crumpled sheet of paper with a mobile number written on it. Now the student has demanded compensation of Rs 1.1 crore from the Amaran makers, alleging that her mobile number was used without permission and even displayed on-screen. It is said that student had expressed her unwillingness to change her phone number due to its association with several essential credentials. In a conversation with a media ,she said, “I do not want to change my phone number because of this issue as it is linked to my Aadhaar, bank cards, and other academic platforms.”

A source revealed that the student had posted about the issue on social media, tagging director Rajkumar Periasamy and Sivakarthikeyan. She decided to file a legal case as there’s been no response from the team and actor.
Amaran is a biographical action war film helmed by Rajkumar Periasamy and bankrolled by Raaj Kamal Films International, together with Sony Pictures Films India starring Sivakarthikeyan as Major Mukund Varadarajan, alongside Sai Pallavi, Bhuvan Arora and Rahul Bose.
The trending film was theatrically debuted worldwide on 31 October 2024 in silver screens, coinciding with auspicious Diwali festival and received widespread critical acclaim from critics, who praised Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi’s outstanding performances, direction, screenplay, execution and G. V. Prakash’s mesmerizing music. It broke several box office records, emerging as the second highest-grossing Tamil film of 2024.
