Tamil actor Vishal has stirred up controversy by addressing awards as “bullshits”. In a recent podcast appearance, Vishal raised questions on the credibility of such recognitions, including the National Awards.
It was how the actor gave emphasis to: “I don’t believe into awards. Who are these few people sitting in a room deciding what seven crore people love? That’s ridiculous,” followed by pointing out that he is not commenting out of personal disappointment- “It’s not because I haven’t received one. The criteria for these awards are the real problem.”
He underscored that one does not do a project anticipating one will win accolades. “I don’t do films expecting awards. What matters most is the audience’s love, not a trophy decided by a committee,” he added.
Following the successful run of Mada Gaja Raja, Vishal is now counting towards his 35th film, Makudam. The film is produced by the veteran filmmaker, R. B. Choudary, under the banner of Super Good Films. The announcement video captures Vishal in a powerful new avatar-dressed in a suit aboard a ship like KGF’s Rocky Bhai.
The film marks the actor’s another collaborative venture with music composer G. V. Prakash and cinematographer Richard M. Nathan, who has worked with Vishal on several hits including Samar and Naan Sigappu Manithan. Dushara Vijayan plays one of the lead ladies.
Makudam, meaning “Crown” in Tamil, promises to be one more action-packed entertainer from Vishal while his frank comments continue hitting the waves in the film industry.
