Anupama Parameswaran Is a South Indian Superstar: Rajisha Vijayan

Bison Movie: Director Mari Selvaraj’s Bison, with Dhruv Vikram originally in mind, had a grand opening from mass audiences across theatres. The movie delves into the world of kabaddi to excavate themes of caste discrimination and social injustice. Using real-life incidents from Tirunelveli as a backdrop, Bison also makes reference to the life of national kabaddi player and Arjuna Award winner Manathi Ganeshan.

The female lead Anupama Parameswaran stars with Malayalam actors Rajisha Vijayan and Lal making appearances in supporting roles. The attention on the movie is increasing as Rajisha’s emotional statement about her co-actress Anupama is gaining the attention of the fans.

“Anupama Never Had Ego”

In Rajisha’s praise, she said during the pre-release event: “Anupama happens to be one of the biggest superstars in South India today, one of the very few who has fanbase across more than one industry – Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, but still did not show ego.”

As a rare instance of someone being so down-to-earth, she recalls Mari Selvaraj would always call her to all the promotional events though Anupama was the heroine. “I used to tell her, ‘Why am I at all the interviews, you are the one in the lead role anyway.’ But she is always a lovely and down-to-earth person.

Bison Movie: A Friendship Beyond the Screen

Rajisha talked about how the bond shared by her and Anupama blossomed during the course of filming Bison: “We became good friends while shooting the movie, and after the movie was finished we took our friendship outside of filming. Anupama is really a wonderful person to work with.”

Bison, albeit still basking in praises for its emotional plot and performances, has secured milestones in Rajisha’s call towards the forefront of respect and friendship shared by two great actresses of South India.
