Shane Nigam’s Haal: The Censor Board has clearly created problems for Haal, a new offer from Shane Nigam, parasitically hovering on the verge of release. The Censor Board has reportedly asked for the omission of some scenes and dialogues related to “beef biriyani” and phrases that mention “flag salute” and “Sangh protection.” There should be 19 cuts suggested, and the censor certificate for the movie has not been issued until after these objections.
The production company JVJ Productions has challenged the board’s orders and has sought the intervention of the High Court of Kerala. The filmmakers contend that the scenes at issue are central to the story, and that artistic freedom should not be restricted on an arbitrary basis.
Haal, directed by Veer, a debutant director, is one of Shane Nigam’s big-budget enterprises. Censor problems delayed the film’s release, which was first scheduled for September 12. Actress Sakshi Vaidya plays the female lead opposite Shane Nigam.
The film has a great supporting cast of Johnny Antony, Vineeth Bheepkumar, K. Madhupal, Sangeetha Madhavan Nair, Joy Mathew, Nishant Sagar, and Suresh Krishna, among others.
Haal has now received support from a prominent person in Bollywood. Ankit Tiwari, is making his debut in Malayalam cinema. Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada, in all these languages the movie will be released.
With dazzling visuals, a great score by Think Music, and a shooting schedule of 90 days non-stop, Haal has everything that can be termed a colorful and entertaining film, provided it somehow manages to cross those darn censors.
