First Choice for Awaara: Actress Tamannaah Bhatia has been in the film industry for over 20 years. She started acting at just 15 and became popular in both Telugu and Tamil cinema. One of her hit movies is Paiyaa which was released in Telugu as Awaara. It was an action-adventure film directed by Lingusamy and starred Karthi and Tamannaah in lead roles. The movie was a big hit when it released on April 2, 2010.
In a past interview, director Lingusamy revealed that the original heroine was supposed to be Nayanthara. She had even agreed to do the film after hearing the story. But due to some creative differences and other reasons, Nayanthara walked out of the project. That’s when Tamannaah was brought in as the female lead.
Tamannaah was only 19 years old at that time. According to Lingusamy, she worked very hard during the shoot. Since most of the movie was filmed while traveling, there were no caravans available. Tamannaah used to change her costumes inside the car, while crew members held sarees or blankets around her. The director said her dedication showed that she would become a big star — and she did!
Her chemistry with Karthi, her cute looks, and expressive acting helped make Awaara a blockbuster. Audiences loved their pairing, and the film is still remembered as one of the best in her career.
Today, Tamannaah is known for her roles in films like Baahubali, 100% Love, and many others. She has acted in more than 60 films and continues to shine in Bollywood item songs and South Indian movies.
