First Choice for Kannappa:
The movie Kannappa, starring Manchu Vishnu, has finally hit the theatres and is receiving a great response from the audience. This devotional drama was delayed for a long time but released on June 27, 2025. From the first show itself, Kannappa has become a super hit and is performing well at the box office. Within just two days, the film collected over ₹45 crore, and Sunday collections are expected to be even higher.

First Choice for Kannappa:
Apart from Manchu Vishnu’s acting and the special role played by Prabhas, another highlight of the movie is actress Preity Mukundhan. She played the role of ‘Nemali,’ a princess, and impressed the audience with her beauty and performance. Interestingly, this is only Preity’s second Telugu film. Earlier, she acted alongside Sri Vishnu in the movie Om Bheem Bush.

But not many know that the makers of Kannappa had initially planned to cast Bollywood beauty Nupur Sanon for the same role. Nupur Sanon, the sister of popular actress Kriti Sanon, was the first choice for the character of Nemali. In fact, the team even started pooja ceremonies and some pre-production work with her.

However, due to some unknown reasons, Nupur walked out of the project after the initial stages. Following her exit, the opportunity went to Preity Mukundhan, who eventually played the role with grace and charm. The audience has praised Preity for her looks and acting in Kannappa.

For those who don’t know, Nupur Sanon is already familiar to Telugu audiences. She made her Tollywood debut with Ravi Teja’s film Tiger Nageswara Rao. She has also worked in Bollywood with stars like Akshay Kumar.

It seems fate worked differently and Preity Mukundhan got a golden opportunity through Kannappa while Nupur missed being a part of this big project.
