Kantara Chapter 1 OTT: Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 is creating a storm at the box office. From day one onwards, this film has received positive feedback from the audience and has been collecting good numbers in the box office. It has already set a new record as the highest-grossing Kannada film after KGF 2. Moreover, it has become the top-earning film of the year.

Looking at the numbers, this film has surpassed Vicky Kaushal’s Chhava. This film has already crossed 800 crore mark and it is expected to cross the 1000 crores mark. Most of them thought that this film is going to run in theatres for some more days, but breaking all the rumors and expectations makers have announced the OTT release just after four weeks of the release.

This announcement, made while the film is still running successfully, left fans confused and curious about the timing. Many questioned whether the early OTT release could affect box office collections.

Hombale Films producer Chaluve Gowda has responded to the buzz and the rumors going on in social media. He said, “Only the Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, and Malayalam versions are being released on OTT for now. The Hindi version will arrive after eight weeks, as per an agreement made three years ago. Back then, before COVID, all films followed the eight-week rule. Even after the OTT release, the theatrical run will continue. We expect only a 10–15% impact on collections.”

In the meantime, in the Hindi Box Office, Diwali releases like Thamma, Ek Deewane ki Deewaniyat, and Kantara Chapter 1 are still running in the theatres and creating good collections. Kantara Chapter 1, directed by Rishab Shetty is going to release in OTT on Amazon Prime Video on October 31st.
