Karikku Movie: After having redefined Malayalam web entertainment, Karikku, an immensely popular YouTube team has now made its mark in cinema. With their hilarious narratives, brilliant production values, and appeal to the Malayali audience, Karikku has gained notoriety among its followers. However, the last few months found the team absent from YouTube, raising questions on their future projects in the minds of the fans. Laying all speculation to rest, Karikku has announced its first-ever movie production-a project that is to mark an official entry of Karikku into the mainstream cinema.
The announcement had created thunderous excitement among the fans since the teams’ iconic web series Thera Para and Kalakitt. According to reports, the film will feature recognizable names from Karikku, including Anu K Aniyan, Sabareesh, Krishnachandran, Jeevan, Anand Mathew, Unni Mathew, Kiran Viyyath, Binoy, and Arjun Rathan. The official announcement of the film is likely to occur on November 1, Kerala Piravi Day.
At the same time as announcing their film, Karikku also made known the inception of their newest banner, Karikku Studios, dedicated to the production of theatrical films and OTT content. Co-production of the new film is being done by Dr. Ananthu Entertainment, whose last work was Basil Joseph’s multistarrer Athishayi.
The Karikku team added in a sentimental post in Instagram, “We are super excited to announce that Karikku Studios – a dedicated space for creating films and web series for theater and OTT platforms – is coming to life. This dream would not have been possible without your incredible love and support over the years.” We hope we will continue to receive blessings on this new adventure of filmmaking.”
For its yet-to-happen big screen debut, Karikku has now extended from realms of digital fame into cinematic storytelling-a move fans cannot wait to see taking place.
