Kollywood’s No.1 Hero: Who Will Take the Throne?

The big question in Kollywood right now is – Who is the No.1 hero? With Vijay entering politics, the No.1 chair in Kollywood seems empty. Ajith is also not very active in films. Though Suriya and Vikram are working on multiple projects their success rate is not high. Shivakarthikeyan is in good form but he has not yet reached the No.1 status.

After Vijay announced his retirement from films, the Tamil film industry is in a unique situation. Vijay was leading the industry while Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan continued to hold their legendary status. But they belong to the senior generation, they were not in the race for the No.1 position. For years, Vijay and Ajith were in a tough competition with Vijay having a slight edge.

But everything changed when Vijay announced his political entry and his decision to quit films. Many thought that Ajith would automatically become the No.1 star.But Ajith has also shown less interest in movies. He is more focused on his passion for racing and only takes up films occasionally. This makes it clear that Ajith is also not in the race for the No.1 spot.

Though Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan are actively making films they are not considered for the top position. They have already ruled the industry for decades and passed the baton to the younger generation. Now that Vijay and Ajith have stepped aside, the big question is – Who will take their place?

Suriya and Vikram are delivering back-to-back films but their recent track record has been inconsistent. If they deliver big hits this year they might re-enter the No.1 race. Suriya gained attention with digital releases during the COVID period but failed to maintain the same success in theaters. His latest film Kanguva, was a disaster making fans rethink his position. Vikram is also struggling as his experiments with different roles have not resulted in big hits.

Shivakarthikeyan is enjoying good success but it is too early to call him the No.1 hero of Kollywood. Industry experts believe that for now,the No.1 chair in Kollywood remains vacant.
