L2: Empuraan: The upcoming movie Lucifer 2 starring Mohanlal, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran is set to hit the theaters from March 27, 2025.
In the backdrop of the film being released on the 27th of this month, Mohanlal gave an interview to the national media along with director Prithviraj Sukumaran. On this occasion, many interesting things he said are going viral.

“I have been acting in films for 47 years. This has been a very long journey. I have faced many setbacks on this path. There are many actors, directors, producers and technicians behind my success. It is because of all of them that I have been able to gain so much love. The love of the audience is more important to me than box office collections. There are many films in my career that have entered the Rs. 100 crore club. As important as collections are, making films that suit the taste of the audience is equally important. Many people ask why I am not acting in films in other languages. I did not think that I should do more films in other languages because of my love for Malayalam. This is also the reason why I am not acting in Hindi films,” said Mohanlal.

L2: Empuraan: Mohanlal’s remuneration

Director Prithviraj Sukumaran said that Mohanlal did not take a single rupee of remuneration for this film. He said that he was the reason for the release of ‘Lucifer 2: Empuraan’. Prithviraj reveals, despite being such a big star, he worked very hard for this film. Prithviraj said that Mohanlal did not take remuneration due to his love for this film and also spent that money for the film. He said that the audience will tell that after seeing it on screen.

Prithviraj Sukumaran said that the reason he reached this level in the film industry was his surname. He said that coming from a family with a film background, he got his first opportunity because of his surname. Since then, he has worked hard to select good stories and establish his own identity. He believes that it is more difficult to maintain a name in the industry. The actor also mentioned how has it become easier to enter the industry compared to the past, and social media is the reason for that.
