Lokesh Kanagaraj spilled beans about Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo 2 and Rajinikanth’s Coolie. In a recent conversation with a media director Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed exciting details on whether Leo 2 with Thalapathy Vijay is happening or not and gave an update on Rajinikanth upcoming action drama film Coolie.

The south India’s most happening director Lokesh Kanagaraj was recently spotted at Kavin’s Bloody Beggar screening, was questioned if he would make Leo 2 with Thalapathy Vijay. In a video shared by fan, the filmmaker stated, “Only Vijay anna could decide that.” If he agrees, I will certainly make it.”

During the same conversation, the filmmaker was asked for his thoughts on Thalapathy Vijay’s recent state conference for his party, TVK. In answer, the director asked, “What can I say about that? Just good wishes for Vijay sir.” He also confirmed that Rajinikanth’s Coolie shoot is progressing smoothly, with only two more schedules left before wrapping up. He also promised that the movie’s release date would be announced after the shoot is complete.

Superstar starrer action thriller film Coolie is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and bankrolled by Kalanithi Maranunder the banner Sun Pictures. The film stars Rajinikanth in the titular role,  Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan and Sathyaraj in the supporting roles.

The film was officially announced in September 2023 under the tentative title Thalaivar 171 as Rajinikanth’s 171st film as a lead actor. The film has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography handled by Girish Gangadharan and editing by Philomin Raj.

Lokesh stated that the film would be a standalone film, not another entry in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU and revealed that Coolie does not revolve around drugs but gold smuggling like director’s other films. Coolie is set to release worldwide in 2025 in standard and IMAX formats in multiple languages.
