Dhruv Vikram’s Bison: Bison’s attempt to capture hearts continues to betaken as good news across India, with Dhruv Vikram featuring in the movie, directed by Mari Selvaraj. The Tamil film is trending and making headline news winning hearts both in Tamil Nadu and the rest of the country. And now, the big name-Mani Ratnam- has added their praises to the long list of accolades Bison received and is still receiving.
On social media, Mari Selvaraj has put up the message of Maniratnam in appreciation of him. The elder said he was so moved by the film, “I watched Bison and felt proud of your cinema. I truly loved it. Mari Selvaraj is the real Bison. Voices like yours matter in being heard.” This quickly made its way onto the internet.
Bison is based on true events from Tirunelveli. It is a strong sports drama with its own set of real-life inspirations. The distillation of real-life experiences, with which this movie draws itself, centers around Manathi Ganeshan, who is a national kabaddi player and Arjuna Awardee. While bringing caste discrimination and social injustices into light, this movie spins a story in-action through the backdrop of kabaddi tournaments.
Dhruv Vikram plays a kabaddi player, while Anupama Parameswaran leads as the female protagonist. The ensemble cast also includes talented actors Pasupathi, Ameer, and Azhagam Perumal. The famous actors from Malayalam cinema, Rajisha Vijayan and Lal- also play prominent roles in the film.
Bison is produced by Neelam Productions under the banner of Pa. Ranjith, and it has collected Rs. 5.67 crore in India. Such glowing reviews, with Maniratnam’s stamp of approval, have elevated Bison to probably be the most extraordinary Tamil movie of the year.
Hi Mari,
