Planning to Watch Dies Irae? Theatres Issue a Warning

Since its premiere on October 31, Dies Irae has quickly become one of the most discussed horror thrillers in Kerala. Directed by Rahul Sadasivan and starring Pranav Mohanlal as the leading actor, it captivated audiences and critics. Through a gripping narrative and a gripping visual range, Dies Irae keeps its viewers engulfed in suspense from the beginning to the end.

Theatres Issue a Public Request

As Dies Irae continues its successful theatrical run, cinema owners across Kerala have come forward with a unique appeal to the audience. Their message is simple but significant: “This is a horror film. Please avoid unnecessary noise and disturbances that affect others’ experience.”

Several major theatres, including Ragam in Thrissur and Apsara in Kozhikode, have publicly shared this request on social media. The initiative has received widespread appreciation, with many viewers agreeing that horror films require silence and focus to create the intended atmosphere.

A Blend of Craft and Atmosphere

The film’s tagline, “The Day of Wrath,” perfectly reflects its dark and intense tone. Rahul Sadasivan, who also penned the script, delivers a taut psychological experience that relies on sound, suspense, and emotion rather than cheap jump scares.

The technical crew behind Dies Irae has contributed immensely to its immersive quality. Cinematographer Shehnad Jalal (ISC), production designer Jyotish Shankar, music composer Christo Xavier, editor Shafique Mohammed Ali, and sound designer Jayadevan Chakkadath together create a cohesive and unsettling cinematic world.

A Horror Experience Worth Respecting

Produced by Night Shift Studios and Why Not Studios, Dies Irae stands as a reminder that true horror thrives in silence and anticipation. As theatres echo with suspense, both filmmakers and audiences seem to agree on one thing- Dies Irae is best experienced with respect, attention, and a quiet sense of fear.
