Rajinikanth Cheers Grandson Yathra Raja’s Big Day

Yathra Raja: Together, Dhanush and filmmaker Aishwarya Rajinikanth commemorated a significant turning point in the life of their oldest son. The ecstatic parents attended the official graduation ceremony of their eldest son, Yathra Raja, from American International School in Chennai.

Yathra was wearing his deep blue graduation robe and cap, and his parents were at his side in a set of pictures that Dhanush posted on Instagram on Saturday. Wearing a clean white shirt, Dhanush is seen holding his son with pride as Aishwarya stands nearby. With heart emojis and the words “PROUD PARENTS #yathra,” the actor’s caption was as sincere as it was brief.

Superstar Rajinikanth, Yatra’s maternal grandfather, also congratulated his grandson on the accomplishment.

Who is Yathra Raja?
Yathra was born on October 10, 2006, and is currently 19 years old. Like his father, Yatra prefers to stay out of the spotlight after completing his education in Chennai. When he achieved an astounding 569 out of 600 on his Class 12 board exams last year, he grabbed headlines. Dhanush shared the incredible accomplishment online, but the family never formally acknowledged it. His scores were 97 in biology, 91 in physics, 92 in chemistry, 99 in mathematics, 98 in language studies, and 92 in English.

Yathra Raja’s Latest Controversy:
When Yathra was spotted riding a superbike in Chennai’s Poes Garden neighborhood in 2023 without a helmet or license, he momentarily caused controversy. Video of the incident, in which he was receiving bike riding instruction, appeared online before being taken down. Yathra was underage at the time, so the Tamil Nadu Traffic Police stepped in and fined her.

Dhanush & Aishwarya’s Co-parenting:
Notably, Dhanush and Aishwarya have been co-parenting both of their sons since announcing their separation in January 2022. The pair has consistently worked to provide a stable and supportive upbringing for Yathra and his younger brother, Linga, despite their separation. According to the media sources, the two decided to co-parent, ensuring that one parent was constantly involved in their children’s lives.

Yathra Raja’s debut:
With Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam, or NEEK, his father’s third feature film, Yathra recently made his cinematic debut. After actor SJ Suryah revealed that Yathra wrote the lyrics for the movie’s first track, “Golden Sparrow,” the romantic comedy, which starred Anikha Surendran, Priya Prakash Varrier, and Mathew Thomas, became the talk of the town.

“The song written by Dhanush’s son #yathradhanush amazed boy (sic) was a pleasure to watch with @dhanushkraja sir and the lovely @priyankaamohan,” SJ Suryah said. But Sreyas, the CEO of Dhanush’s Wunderbar Studios, kindly clarified that Yathra had only added four lines to the song. Arivu was listed as both the vocalist and the lyricist on the song’s official poster.
