Suriya drops New Year special look from Karthik Subbaraj’s directorial Retro. Check out the actor’s much anticipated new look from his upcoming film here.

Actor Suriya Shivakumar took to this official Twitter account, wrote, “Happy 2025! Lots of love, lots of light, and lots of happiness,” as he sported his vintage outfit and posed against the landscapes and his classic vintage car.

Suriya is currently filming  RJ Balaji  directorial Suriya 45, starring alongside Trisha Krishnan. The actor also took to social media to wish his fans a happy New Year. He showed his followers the fresh look of his upcoming film, Retro. The upcoming action thriller is described as a romantic action film. The film was formerly titled Suriya44, and Pooja Hegde played the female lead.

Aside from the lead cast, the film features an ensemble cast that includes Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, Prakash Raj, Sujith Shankar, Prem Kumar, Ramachandran Durairaj, Remya Suresh, and many more. Furthermore, the picture is scheduled to be released in theaters in the summer of 2025.

The title teaser for the film was also released a few days ago, and it revealed glimpses of the story of a ruthless and legendary gangster who leaves the crime-ridden world after falling in love. The rest of the film appears to be about what happened in his life before meeting her and the impact his leaving could have.

Suriya continues to be garnering attention for a while now, especially as the excitement surrounding Vaadivaasal heats up. The film, directed by Vetrimaaran, is expected to begin production soon after the filmmaker completed his most recent project, Viduthalai Part 2.

Furthermore, suspicion has grown that Suriya and Vetrimaaran’s much anticipated collaboration may become a trilogy, with the tale spread across three films. Vaadivaasal expected to hit silver screen worldwide in multiple languages in 2026.
